chris mohr squareMajors and Minors: Criminal Justice. Minors in Sociology and Psychology

Year: 2018

Why did you choose Criminal Justice as your major?

I chose Criminal Justice as my major to gain hands on learning about the law enforcement field to prepare me for my future career.

What did you like most about it?

I enjoyed learning about real cases and scenarios that involved criminal justice professionals in the field.

What is your current position, what do you, and what do you enjoy most about it?

I am currently a Special Police Officer in East Brunswick. As a Special Police Officer my job duties include providing security for courtroom functions and special events; providing public safety assistance in East Brunswick.

What was your first job after Rutgers and how did you get it?

I am currently in many different law enforcement-hiring processes throughout New Jersey.

Looking back, what classes or experiences at Rutgers would you point to as contributing to your successes?

The Criminal Justice program as a whole as allowed me to become the individual I am today. The professors and academic advisors are the reason that I have learned so much about the criminal justice field. My past four years at Rutgers would not have been so great without the positive relationships that I made with the faculty and staff from the Criminal Justice Department.

What advice do you have for our current Arts and Sciences students?

My advice to current Arts and Science students is to never give up and set goals for your future. One also needs to plan ahead and be determined to gain internships in the Criminal Justice field to gain hands on experience that will help one in the future.
